Summer "Roosters" Program

Our membership is a year-round comprehensive Hockey IQ cirriculum designed to maximize your young athlete's potential. It includes on-ice tactical skills instruction, dryland instruction, and a multi-media interactive curriculum designed to make each player the best competitor, teammate, player, and leader they can be.

Ages

What aged players are appropriate for this program?

The 2026 Rooster development cohort is for 2012-2017 birth years (Squirt-Bantam).

We also offer:

- cross-ice games on Sundays for Mites

-"Summer Shinny" for Mites and Squirts where they can get extra ice time and reps on ice in a fun player-centric environment.

When

What time of the year does this program run?

Our 2026 Rooster Program takes place from June 28 - August 16 as follows:

Premier League Games: Sunday evenings @ Chase Arena.

4:30 PM: Squirts + Mites Cross Ice
5:40 PM: Pee Wees
6:50 PM: Bantams / Midgets
8:00 PM: Varsity / Senior

Skills/Scrimmage @ Chase Arena:

1 x per week (Mondays or Saturdays)

Dryland Training:

4 sessions of Camp Rooster at Loker Field Wayland
4 sessions at Boston Hockey Skills in Reading MA (2 skills combines + 2 skills / multisport sesisons)

OPTIONAL ($100 add-on) - STRENGTH & CONDITIONING

4x per week Natick Strength and Conditioning at Natick HS at either 8AM or 11AM (overseen by Coach Nick & Natick Parks & Rec)

Community model hockey + Player "Passport"

We follow the Nordic and Minnesota "community models" for our programming:

We are mindful of each player's abilities and needs
We don't hold tryouts
We blend kids of different ages at each on-ice session to create a fluid and optimized on-ice environment for every player every time they put on their skates (our "player passport" program)
We strive to offer hockey for as little cost as possible.
We allow late-birth year players to play with their grade-level peers (like they do in Minnesota) instead of the more rigid Jan 1 - Dec 31 age cutoffs that MA hockey uses.
We treat every player as a future superstar...because we cannot predict who will work the hardest at home and in the weight room from ages 14-18.
Our goal is to build a longitudinal ecosystem that helps kids understand the individual habits and team skills required to lead a successful, well-adjusted, and rewarding life.

Development First

The Roosters are a development program. We create a development-focused environment that helps youth players understand the demands of higher-level hockey as well as what it means to be a great teammate and have high "Team IQ".

We use a "constraint led approach" to helping players learn the game.

And we design our curriculum to keep things fun, and keep kids engaged.
